Dr. Denita Benyshek is a retired counseling psychologist and a published researcher on contemporary artists as shamans. Her artworks were exhibited in many West Coast museums with recent shows in Rome, Italy and New York City.

This body of work was inspired by a home garden that was planted for the artist’s disabled adult son, for whom she provides care. The garden’s splendor offers her and her son a space to sit outside and enjoy nature in their Kansas hometown, while also providing artistic inspiration. This exhibition presents a continuum of experience, from the inspirited garden to the mystical cosmos, offering transcendent, timeless beauty as a healing experience for the viewer.
