Kerry's work begins with a handful of sharpened pencils and a blank sheet of artboard. She scribbles and erases until images appear in the lines which are then brought to life using colored pencils, oil pastels, and oil painting mediums. The book, Lavern on Monday, emerged through the same process. Each piece in the series was created and then the story of Lavern emerged.
