Jiro Okura (b. 1942, Uji City, Kyoto, Japan) is known for his minimalist wooden sculpture woks made from woods of native trees associated with Shinto & Buddhism. In addition he is known for his Sumi ink drawings. Extremely prolific over four decades, his work has ended up in a number of permanent and private collections all over the world.
