First Snow by Debra Goley Image: A first snowfall occurs in the high desert in mid to late fall. Its a mist of flurries and a beautiful sight against the red rocks of Sedona. Ice at the lower level in the early morning after a drop in overnight temperatures makes an early hike treacherous. But alas, a change in temperature in the afternoon, albeit cloudy, allows warmer temps to melt away the icy path and takes you to new heights. Caution! Slippery when wet!
