Homecoming
This body of work explores the idea of home, not as a place remembered, but as something slowly discovered.
Growing up, I never imagined that my birth father was someone I would only meet for the first time in my thirties. Recently, I discovered that he had designed and built a round family home. Finding these architectural drawings awakened in me a deep sense of connection to a place I have never seen, yet somehow feel closely tied to.
In these new works, fragments of those architectural plans quietly appear, layered beneath gardens, birds, and the familiar flora that have long inspired my practice.
The garden has always been a place where I feel grounded. As it turns out, my father loved the garden too, a shared connection I never knew existed. A place of observation, stillness, and belonging.
By weaving together these architectural drawings and living forms, the works reflect a meeting point between inheritance and experience, structure and growth.
They speak of roots that are both remembered and imagined, and of the gentle realisation that sometimes home is something we grow into.
