This 1m high interactive sculpture depicts the clockwise direction of swirling water in Northern hemisphere, set into the four compass points, and a tunnel departs the top surface and drops into a channel which travels around the outside of the octagonal piece in a counterclockwise manner of swirling water in the Southern hemisphere. It has been designed (and tested by all ages) to run a marble, when placed in the centre of the top side, it naturally runs around and down to the channel all the way to pop out at the bottom into a dish. Young and old alike delight in this. Decorative motifs relating to the my own lived experiences of the West Coast of Canada and Northland New Zealand decorate selected panels on the side walls facing the directions which they represent.
