Larry is a native Texan. He studied music composition at North Texas University, and enjoyed a long career in the Hollywood studios. Larry is an Emmy award-nominated composer, arranger, conductor, musical director, and pianist. He has worked with musical artists like Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Glen Campbell, The Temptations, the Smothers Brothers, Lionel Richie, and Collin Raye. His symphony “Mojave” was performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Among his musical credits was composing the music for the hit classic “Wildfire” and composing the music for Robert Redford's Academy Award- nominated short subject "A Short Film On Solar Energy."
Another lifelong passion of his has been art, and he started drawing at an early age. In the last few years he has turned this interest into a full-time pursuit. He moved to southern Arizona in 2001, and began studying painting with artists like Randall Sexton, Ray Roberts, Gabor Svagrik, Dennis Ziemienski, Kathryn Stedham and Colley Whisson. He also composed the music for a montage of the paintings of his friend, the legendary, Ed Mell.
He loves painting Southwest landscapes and cloudscapes as well as California and Hawaiian beach scenes.
