Thomas Richard Loomis was born in Lincoln Illinois,October 23,1931, The son of a WW11 war veteran and a school teacher. He joined the Navy and served in the Korean War at Alameda Naval Air Station. In 1955 he moved to Flagstaff working at the Flagstaff Lumber Company for decades.Three children were born to him by his first wife Barbara Loomis. Then reaching for his own business, Tom's Mr Hardware was opened. While there, he bought a camera and the creative photo bug bit him.
His next adventure was The Silver Fox Studio which opened in the mid 80's. HIs love of photography never left him, earning his Masters Degree at the age of 65.
In the meanwhile when living in Flagstaff he joined the Flagstaff Masonic Lodge #7 in 1967. He served as Master of that lodge. Over the years , he supported many Masonic activities and was a member of the Northern Arizona Scottish Rite degree team.
Retirement only gave him freedom to do whatever he loved to do. When his grandchildren would visit he would teach them shooting skills while shooting at golf balls or targets at the range.
He leaves behind his beloved JoAnne Loomis, son Thomas Robert Loomis and wife Sue, his precious daughter Pamela Stang. Grandsons, Wyatt and Dillon Stang. David and Kevin Greer. Sisters Shirley Rhodes and Rita Schmitt.
Tom died April 13, 2021 at the age of 89 peacefully in his sleep.
He is off to another adventure. He probably is telling a joke right now, leaving St. Peter shaking his head.
