Steve Dell started shooting film years ago to capture images of his champion Cocker Spaniel in the show ring. However, frequent corporate transfers had him put the camera away for years. Then in the late 90's Steve purchased his first digital “point and shoot” camera, and soon thereafter upgraded to a full-fledged dSLR, a Canon 10D.

When Steve and his wife moved to Tucson in 2003, he started to capture the beauty of nature, wildlife, and the landscapes of the Desert Southwest. He became recognized for his excellent eye and mastery of the photographic art. Steve is a seven-time president of Club Camera Tucson, the largest and oldest camera club in Southern Arizona. He frequently judges photo competitions for photo clubs throughout Arizona and nationally. He leads workshops and photo tours annually to Bosque del Apache to capture the magnificent migratory Sand Hill Cranes. He is an instructor in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, and lectures in photographic technique. Steve founded and leads the Tucson Creative Cloud for Photographers Meetup Group. He’s a featured photographic artist at the Tucson Medical Center with nearly 40 images on permanent display.

After many years shooting and enjoying Canon photography equipment, a few years ago Steve transitioned to mirrorless, using an Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mk III with a variety of lenses. His favorite lens is an Olympus 7-14 f/2.8 pro zoom, a versatile lens for capturing the landscapes he loves to shoot.
