Tucson artist Mary Emelie Heinz Langston was born October 5, 1928, in Atlanta, GA, and died at home in Tucson on November 19, 2011. Mary graduated, BA, from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA, and did graduate work in the Art Department at the University of Georgia in Athens. She was a long time member of the Tucson Museum of Art and a charter member of Tohono Chul park. She exhibited her art work widely across the country. Her works included water color, acrylic, and encaustic paintings combined with collage and handmade paper, as well as ceramic sculpture.
