This was the first piece I painted in this style. It was a therapeutic experience and has deep meaning to me. I have never been able to sell it until now. It is priced at what it would be worth for me to let it go, right now. The light in the center of the tree depicts the light of Christ in all of us. The earth beneath the tree is a symbol of being rooted in Christ. Each colored dot represents each experience of life as colorful points of light that come together to create the whole organism. There are some dots near the bottom of the leaf carriage which are tainted gray. Those experiences weigh heavily as grief, sin and sadness, and begin dropping toward the bottom of the leaf carriage where they become so heavy, they fall like tears, through confession and prayer. As they fall, they hit the surface of the ground (being Christ) and splash in an explosion of love, forgiveness, and healing through the healing power of the atonement of Christ where He transmutes them into beautiful testaments over our lives. It is how I would depict the process of sanctification while being rooted in Christ as He turns all the painful experiences of this life into wisdom, love, courage & strength, if we choose to receive our strength from Him. Hence the name of the painting, Sanctification.
