The thought of Van Gogh always brings to mind Sunflowers. They symbolize adoration, loyalty and longevity. They are known for being “happy” flowers, making them the perfect gift to bring joy to someone’s day. Intrigued by the ephemeral and ever-changing nature of street art, I am employing traditional art techniques with street art aesthetics creating images that reveal a layer through a multi layered process of torn layers of paper and multi layers of paint. Wrinkles and tearing are intentional as part of the nature and beauty of street art. This work is part of the series Urban Flora, inspired by the oasis that NYC parks provide against the urban backdrop of fragmented skyscrapers. It is designed on a grid of 4 panels that work well individually as well as in a vertical or horizontal orientation. The panels represent building windows. Signed. Canvas sides are painted for a finished look. Comes ready to hang on stretched canvas.
