Artwork statement... The title words are the two latin words identifying the genus and species of the wormwood plant that supplies the anice-like flavor and aroma of absinthe. Created as a companion piece to my previous painting 'The Geen Fairy'.
This mixed media piece is almosting completely about material experimentation (of ultra-violet reactive pigments blended with the oil paint medium 'Liquin' [W&N]) and developing processes creating mood, atmosphere and glow out of oil paints.
It is the 11th major artwork using my former studio-mate, Kelsie R***, as the model.
