Rosemeade Pottery was founded in 1940 as the Wahpeton Pottery Company in Wahpeton, North Dakota, by Laura A. Taylor and Robert J. Hughes. The company produced realistic, hand-painted ceramic animals, birds, and fish, known for their lustrous glazes and vibrant colors. The company changed its name to Rosemeade Pottery in 1953 and ceased production in 1961 after the death of Laura Taylor Hughes.
