The history of the artist Michael Bond's etching began in Wisconsin around 1979, when he enrolled in a printmaking course at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls, after moving there and discovering a book on British Etchers. He created his first six zinc plate etchings during this course and was so inspired that he decided to pursue art full-time, building his career through the art fair circuit. His work evolved from pure line etchings to incorporating techniques like aquatint, drypoint, and mezzotint, often combining them on the same plate.
