Cromargan is a brand of stainless steel trademarked by the German company WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) in 1930. The company first launched a Cromargan stainless steel pan in 1927 and began producing other Cromargan products, like cookware and cutlery, shortly after. The name combines "chrome" (for the high chromium content) and "argan" (for its silvery appearance).
