Anchor Hocking's history began in 1905 in Lancaster, Ohio, as the Hocking Glass Company, founded by Isaac J. Collins. The company grew rapidly and became a leading producer of affordable "Depression Glass". In 1937, it merged with the Anchor Cap & Closure Corp. to form Anchor Hocking Glass Corp.. Throughout its history, Anchor Hocking has been known for popular product lines like Fire-King, introduced in 1942.
