Born on August 1, 1912 in Dublin, New Hampshire, she studied at Cushing Academy, Oak Grove School, Antioch College, and Rhode Island School of Design.

She lived in Avon, Connecticut and Keene, New Hampshire where she died on April 8, 2004.
