A Hillsborough NC resident for over three decades, Thomas has created a body of artwork described as mostly harmless, featuring local landscapes, colorful gardens, whimsical still-life, and an alarming number of people who have lost their clothes.

Originally exhibited in 2012, 'Backyard Play' featured eight paintings of the artist’s backyard. The series was built around a puzzle, in which embedded text from each painting - or the painting titles - could be combined to assemble a quote from the movie, Wizard of Oz. “If I ever go looking for my heart’s desire again, I won’t look any further than my own backyard.

Having been reacquired from an estate, this is the only remaining painting of the BackYard Play exhibit available for purchase.
