Alex Branch x
Branch currently lives in Colorado where she teaches 3-D Foundations at Metropolitan State University in Denver. Branch is a 2024-2025 Greene Fellowship Fellow and a 2024-2026 Redline Artist In Residence. She received an MFA from SUNY Purchase and a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her solo exhibitions have appeared at venues including Understudy (Denver, CO), BRDG Project (Denver, CO), Flood Plain (St. Louis, MO), PlatteForum (Denver, CO), and many others. She has been granted residencies at the Bemis Center For Contemporary Arts, Blue Mountain Center, PlatteForum, and other programs. As a visiting artist, she has given artist lectures at institutions including Parsons, The New School, the University of New Mexico, and the Sanitary Tortilla Factory Gallery.
In addition to showing her own work, Branch has co-curated nontraditional exhibitions in collaboration with Brooklyn Queens Land Trust and Classon-Fulgate Community Garden, Figment Festival, Governor’s Island, and Crawl Space. The Denver Post, Southwest Contemporary Magazine, and other publications have featured her projects.
