As I sketched, I found myself captivated by the climbing roses adorning the venerable Musee-Bibliotheque Francois Petrarque. These roses had gracefully yielded to the gardener's careful training on the trellis. The sun, not yet fully risen, cast its gentle light over the horizon, where the ancient ruins of the Chateau des Eveques de Cavaillon, also known as the Bishop's Castle, proudly crowned the ridge. The ancient aura of this place filled me with exhilaration, and my excitement grew as the sun peeked over my shoulder, bathing the scene before me in a splendid, warm glow that caressed the stone walls. In "Provencal Sunrise Climbers," an 8x10" oil painting, I sought to capture the gradual descent of shadows as the sun embraced the rose trellis with its radiant warmth.
