Item description: Walton produced a series of paper paintings of the same general format as Watercolor III, each with earth and sky, in watercolor, divided by a horizon line, and with figurations spaced across the foreground. The landscape is Northern Nevada desert. As to the figurations, they may be seen as desert shrubs - shadscale, saltbush or sage - but the titles of some paintings in the series point to the squiggly lines being human figures.
