Item description: A footed bowl decorated in the classic polychrome Gnathian manner. The artist painted handles in beautiful salmon pink hues - on each side. Between the 'handles' on one side is a wide register featuring a berried ivy leaf vine framed by an incised linear wheel mark painted claret red followed by a wavy white line adorned by salmon pink buds below. Note the ivy leaves as well as the buds below are also highlighted with specks of white and nice wheel marks also adorn the foot. A lovely example that demonstrates the skillful techniques and a refined polychromatic effect characteristic of Gnathia.
