MessageOriginally from the Chicago area, Wendy Kveck recived a BFA from the University of Iowa and an MFA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2007. Kveck’s work confronts popular images and historical depictions of women as cultural markers through the mediums of painting, drawing, collage and performance. Informed by a feminist practice, her collaborative performances activate social perceptions and dialogue around vulnerability, chaos, agency and transformation. Kveck exhibits and lectures nationally and is a 2018 recipient of a Soaring Gardens Artist Retreat fellowship through the Ora Lerman Charitable Trust. She is an arts advocate through her various roles as an artist, educator, curator and organizer. Kveck is the founder of Settlers + Nomads (settlersandnomads.art), a collective curatorial project highlighting contemporary art and artists with ties to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she lives and works.
