Artist: Henry Scott Bridgwater (British, 1864-1950)
Bridgwater was a mezzotint engraver and painter who worked for most of the leading London print publishers and dealers. A prolific engraver with a wide range of subjects including portraits, genre and landscape, Bridgwater's work is held by institutions including the Victoria and Albert and the National Portrait Gallery in London.
Henry Scott Bridgwater was also called 'Henry' or 'Harry' and often misspelled 'Bridgewater' rather than 'Bridgwater.' Bridgwater was married to the painter Hester May Prall and father of watercolourist Phyllida Muriel Bridgwater.
