He studied art at the National School of Painting and Sculpture, known as "La Esmeralda" He is co-founder of the INBA Plastic Research and Experimentation Center, where he finished his formal studies. His area of knowledge is “visual arts”. His main interest is art education, promotion, and the creation and production of his own work.
From the year 1973 he participates in exhibitions. Currently, she has more than ten dozen solo exhibitions in Mexico, the United States, and Yugoslavia, among others. She has participated in more than a hundred collective exhibitions in various countries in America, Asia and Europe.
Since 1975, he has won various national prizes in painting, drawing and installation and international recognition for his artistic work and his installation work and ephemeral work.
He has participated in the dissemination of contemporary Mexican art as a Lecturer, Promoter, Jury, Advisor, Instructor, Teacher, Tutor, Conservator, Curator and Art Consultant.
In 1976 he was the founder of the Plastic Research and Experimentation Center (CIEP) of the National Institute of Fine Arts.
He founded , together with other artists, SALON 76 and culminated in an exhibition at the MAM in 1978.
In 1983, he stands out as a founding member of the group " Atte. la Dirección ".
He conceives the creation of a space for non-conventional arts, founding EX-Teresa Arte Alternativo at the INBA, based in the former Temple of Santa Teresa La Antigua, where he served as director from 1993 to 1994 and 1996 to 1998.
He is co-founder of COMPAS (Coalition of Mexican Organizations for the Promotion of Art), where he participated as Vice President.
He founded Arte Hoy AC in 2009 and directs the Salón Abierto project.
In 2019 he directed the ITSÏ project with the AC Water Advisory Council
Scholar of the modality "Intellectual Creators in Visual Arts", of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts, CNCA from 1992 to 1993. Member of the National System of Creators in Visual Arts, of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts, CNCA del year from 1993 to 2000, 2005 to 2008 and 2015 to 2018.
Director of the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving "La Esmeralda" of the INBA from May 2009 to October 2013.
