Cape buffalo, protective and aggressive, are considered the most dangerous animal of the savannah. The herds are matriarchal, and elder females are "pathfinders" with a group process of voting with their body positioning. The woman is inspired by the beautiful art cinema of Buhlebezwe Siwani, which I saw in Cape Town. The cave and water are imaginary and evocative of where a kind of sacred transfer of wisdom occurs.
