Kevin O’Malley – Children’s Book Author & Illustrator

Kevin O’Malley is the award-winning author and illustrator of more than 85 children’s books, including Once Upon a Cool Motorcycle Dude, the Captain Raptor series, and Miss Malarkey titles. Known for his sharp humor, ever-changing art style, and refusal to talk down to young readers, O’Malley has spent over 35 years creating stories that reflect the wild, funny, and imaginative world of real kids.

A graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, O’Malley grew up outside Philadelphia and now lives in Towson, Maryland, where he works out of a sunlit home studio filled with colored pencils, pastels, and the occasional rhinoceros drawing. Whether he's writing his own stories or illustrating others’, O’Malley approaches every book with the same goal: to make kids laugh, think, and feel seen.
