MessageThis San Ildefonso vessel is characteristic of some other tribal influence. For instance, the roughly cut and incised design of this vessel is consistent with the Santa Clara tribe of New Mexico. Additionally, the terra cotta color of the vessel is not consistent with the polychrome red and black of the San Ildefonso. This vessel could show the influence of other tribes in the area on one another in ways of composition and design. This vessel is a terra cotta colored pot with deeply incised geometric designs around the exterior. The bottom is signed with the artist name, tribe, and year (1990).
