This ceramic work comes from an artist named Becky Pasquale from the Acoma nation in New Mexico. The Acoma are known for their thin and light weight pottery, often featuring natural designs such as animals. Usually, Acoma pottery is painted in black and white pigments, so this vessel is exceedingly unique. This vessel features a tan glaze, which the donor notes. Featured on this work are lizards covered in symbols, similar in style to the Hopi. The Hopi, Zuni, and Acoma are all very central to one another and often share symbols in their artworks. The bottom of this vessel reads "Becky Pasquale, Acoma, N.M."
