I started in the evening and it was beautiful but the tide was high and it just wasn’t quite what I wanted. So when the sun came around and started obstructing my view, I walked away from it and came home. I knew the tide would be low in the morning but one can never trust the west coast light to be what a painter desires. At just before six o’clock, I check the weather. Sun, clouds and possible showers. I went anyway. I was on location and set up about 30 minutes later and still drinking my first cup of coffee. What a spectacular morning for plein air painting.
