Alma de Pájaro

“Alma de Pájaro” (Soul of the Bird) was inspired when my sister was diagnosed with cancer. She has recovered and is better now. In this art piece I wanted to express how we were emotionally moved. The art piece is a mix media painting of a woman trying to connect with nature and her rebirth. She is inside a nest where she envisions her illness as a black bird aspiring to heal physically and spiritually. Her baldness represents an egg waiting to hatch the flight of her spirit. Being conscious of this has taught us to embrace a more positive way of life.
