- Chalk Pastel
- 18 x 20 in
- Signature: Lower right hand side

Statement about the artwork: The view is actually from my bedroom - constantly changing - kaleidoscope of colour & form. This piece was my first attempt at pastel painting and it was accepted in the Ontario Pastel Society Open Exhibition. I was blown away. This event started me on a study of pastel which has not as yet come to fruition.
Q: In what ways has living in Northern Ontario influenced your work?
A: Northern Ontario is so huge that it allows the individual artist to stay isolated. A Northerner can still paint landscape without Blushing. And it wold take several lifetimes to comprehend this country.
Q: What do you think is of importance about the Permanent Collection for northern artists and communities?
A: As a young person I travelled around England. What I really enjoyed was coming across a small gallery with a Permanent Collection of area artists. A lot of the paintings were not "sophisticated" bu the insight to the people and place was so much richer than the collection of say "the AGA."
Q: Do you have any other brief comments about your art?
A: Atmosphere is my main inspiration. Method - simply a brush and colour - no gimmicks.
