*Shadow Plane (Bark Study)* translates a photograph of a tree in Hiroshima Peace Park into a layered textile surface. Three sublimation transfers on translucent polyester soften the bark’s contours, dispersing tones and textures into a quiet, atmospheric field. Stretched over a double-sided wooden frame, the work shifts with light, revealing seams, overlaps, and subtle tonal dispersions. Figuration remains present yet porous, making the piece both image and soft image carrier—a material meditation on memory, surface, and slow looking.
