Calling upon the imagery of the elderly storyteller, passing on the wisdom of generations, this sculpture depicts an elderly face embedded in the Earth and surrounded by crystalline structures. These crystals are physical memory keepers, storing energy and history within its facets. Wisdom is passed down in filtered form, through myths and legends that are embedded into the bedrock of civilizations to impart truth in ways that can be easily remembered and evolved through time. In many traditions, the elderly are treasured as keepers of these stories, a bridge between what was and the future. “Story teller” is inscribed in Cherokee, honoring the Native traditions of this land.
