Being born and raised on Vancouver Island, I care deeply about our environment and the wildlife residing in it. Takaya's life story and shocking demise really struck a chord in my heart and I wanted to be a part of the change we need in our society to see these beautiful animals protected. Amazingly, I did not learn of Takaya's murder until after I had finished this piece titled 'Spirit Wolf', this was almost immediatley before the incident. It seems that our collective consciousness or a connection between Takaya and myself drew this vision out of me. Rest in peace, Takaya. You will never be forgotten.
