Artist: Paul Harder
Paul developed his art skills through many informal courses and workshops, both here and abroad. He has worked as an artist since 1994, starting out as a ceramicist and gradually moving into bronze casting for the past 15 years. His main area of interest has been west coast animal art with an emphasis on marine life and fish. Paul's bronze works are known for their rich and deeply textured surfaces and a high degree of realism with a strong sense of movement, balance and character. Public installations of Paul's work include a number of pieces at the Shaw Ocean Marine Centre, the Tulista Skate Park in Sidney BC, the Resort Town of Whistler and the new Sunny Hill Hospital for Children in Vancouver. Paul has sold his works throughout North America and Europe. Corporate clients include Octopus Investments, London, UK, Timberlost Wildlife Reserve in Ontario, LM Design Group in Los Angeles, Coastal Supply Group in Florida and Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort in BC. For the past four years Pau has worked closely with WildAid out of San Francisco creating and donating sculptures for the annual fundraising efforts towards global wildlife conservation. Paul works out of a charming countryside studio located in Deep Cove, North Saanich. His works can be viewed at the Shell Aerocentre located in the Victoria International Airport and by appointment at the studio. For more information about Paul's work, please visit www.paulharder.com
