There exists in the world a very round, very grumpy little bird called a bearded reedling, who likes to do the splits on reeds. My version is made from a 10" tambourine, with subtle sculpting to bring his eyes and beak into relief, and is doing the splits on some drumsticks--he's a percussionist.
