The Artists Gallery (TAG)
Los Angeles, California
TAG Gallery is a Contemporary Fine Art Gallery on Museum Row in the Miracle Mile Wilshire Blvd district of Los Angeles, California
MessageThe painting belongs to the series “Under the Bluebird Sky” that studies interrelations between mass media and human’s feeling of Happiness. The artist’s research is based on the Lippmann-Dewey debate that centers on Lippmann's belief that mass media manipulates public opinion through biased information, while Dewey argues that mass media has the potential to educate and empower the public to engage more deeply in social and political context.
The metaphor of Bluebird as a metamodernist image is seen as harbinger of Happiness and Hope in pantheons of ancient and contemporary cultures. People keep chasing the Bluebird and its vibes in of our daily life forgetting that it is always reachable as soon as one starts looking for it.
The artist uses collage of newspapers as backdrop for the Bluebirds leading their way to Happiness and showing that inner state of balance comes from within human soul and can be obtained any time regardless outer news flow. This is true for any person in the world which is emphasized by using newspapers in different languages.
