Sybil Atteck Exhibition - Closing Post

Instagram - Closing an exhibition is always bittersweet. We are sad to package up Sybil Atteck’s paintings, drawings, and photographs, but are happy for the time we had with them. Keith and the Atteck family opened their doors to the city revealing an archive of wonder and we are so grateful for the special opportunity they afforded us in getting to know an amazing woman and artist, and to connect or reconnect to a place.

Sybil spent a career laying out the beauty of Trinidad for all to see. From the mangroves to the mountains, to the florals and animal life on the island. She honoured the country in her glorious representations of daily life and cultural celebrations.

Thank you to everyone who brought her to life’s work to life including Keith Atteck, Andil Gosine, Christopher Cozier, and Richard Fung.
