Part of a series of paintings of the Outer Hebrides, an area of Scotland I love because of its big skies, dramatic weather and remoteness.
It’s possible to have all the seasons within a few minutes in the Outer Hebrides and I hope I captured some of that in this painting: darkening clouds, but a bright golden beam of sunlight shining through.
