"Being Green", 36" x 36z', acrylic on canvas
"Being Green" is one of my process driven pieces. Making "process driven" art just means participating with some materials without a fixed idea of the final outcome. It's a spontaneous collaboration between materials, physics, my hands and my brain. It involves sort of relaxing my conscious mind and accessing my intuitive subconscious. Right brain, left brain. In this piece I set myself the parameter of a narrow palette. It is a rewarding exercise and an important part of my practice. This piece was made using many layers of thin glazes to draw the viewer's eye deep into the painting and into themselves. It is a dance with green. I luxuriate in green. It is a joyful celebration of the most hopeful of colors.
