Art book or cook book?
Susan Wallis, renown Canadian encaustic artist and From the Farm Cooking School have collaborated on an art \cookbook.
The Art of Herbs is a collection of Wallis’ Garden Series of herb encaustic paintings (the ancient medium of mixing oil pigment with molten wax) paired with herb-infused recipes from Cynthia Peters.
The biggest dilemma one will have with this book will be whether to keep it close at hand in your kitchen or on display as an art book on your coffee table or with your cherished collection of art books.
The book is a feast for the eyes and eventually the stomach if one follows the sumptuous, easy to follow recipes inside. Both collaborators are also residents of bucolic Prince Edward County, Ontario the hub of locavore foodies and a blossoming wine region.
