This little drawing was a labor of love, meticulously and somewhat painfully crafted in my New York studio over a year. What began as a delicate, almost invisible sketch evolved into a tonal study that captures the unassuming beauty of this humble weed. I intended to create an ethereal and nearly imperceptible drawing, but I became increasingly drawn to the subject as I worked on it. As I continued, the drawing reflected the dandelion unfurling into a dynamic growth spiral from earth to sky, from plant to flower.
