My interest in painting and creating works of art stems from the love of beautiful, relaxing scenes that enhance the lives of others as well as bring joy to me in being able to express my creativity and share some of the beauty of nature with others.
As a former student of art education in the 1960’s when freedom of expression was the primary focus, I find the expressive enjoyment of creating works of art to be exceptionally relaxing, especially when listening to spa music playing with a fan blowing a gentle breeze. Moods, facial expressions, scenes, textures, colors, personalitie, emotions, and shapes are endless and there are no limits, rules, or hindrances that need apply unless I choose to include them. Other artists who have developed painful cramps in their hands or arthritis or just lose their enthusiasm for painting have been coming to my studio to watch me paint since I sometimes choose to paint with anything and everything including my hands and fingers. There can be a plan in mind, but often the painting seems to evolve on its own which is interesting and rewarding to experience.
Although I have only been painting again since early 2017, I have sold many paintings including several at local art shows. I have also painted pet personality watercolors, oils, and acrylics on commission.
