in 1866, Conrad build a home for his new bride, Augusta. He had met her and fell in love on the East Coast and promised he would build for her a beautiful Victorian home in the wilderness of Montana and that is exactly what he did. The Grant Kohrs Ranch and home in Deer Lodge, Montana, now belong to The National Park Service. When you visit it, be sure to see this beautiful Victorian porch Conrad Kohrs built especially for his bride so they could sit in the rocking chairs on the porch and watch the day melt into beautiful sunsets over the mountains. This ranch was the end destination for the last great cattle drive from Texas to Montana in1897. I added the birds to help you feel the gentle breeze.
