The History of the Rule of Law is a series of oil paintings chronicling the evolution of law in western civilization. These works grace the walls of the Rule of Law Gallery, located on the 11th Floor of the building, with the story beginning in the southwest corner and continuing clockwise around the room. The six 4-by-8 paintings created by artist Ron Anderson are on permanent loan from the Ohio State Bar Association.
Lady Justice Leading the People is the sixth and final painting in the series. It depicts a scene from the modern civil rights movements, where the blindfolded personification of Lady Justice leads a group of protesters through the streets, the American flag in one hand and a sword in the other.
