Artist: Charles William DuVall (American, 1865-1966)
Charles William Duvall was born near Gallipolis, Ohio in 1864 and is known for his landscapes inspired by the rolling hills and bright forests of Ohio and West Virginia. Duvall studied for ten years under Edward Parker Hayden, a well-known Ohio painter, and subsequently toured the art centers of Europe. He then spent the rest of his life in Columbus, where he owned a small studio and taught painting. Many of his works are in the permanent collection of the Columbus Museum of Art.
