Artist: Albert C. Fauley (American, 1859-1919)
Albert C. Fauley, born in Fultonham, Ohio in 1859, was a painter and teacher known for his landscapes and portraits. Fauley studied at the Académie Julian in Paris with Gustave Boulanger and Benjamin Constant from 1888 to 1894. He went on to teach at the Columbus Art School from 1898 to 1910 and at the Columbus School for Girls from 1912 to 1917. Fauley exhibited at many institutions, including the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1903, the League of the Columbus Museum of Art in 1919, the National Academy of Design in 1898, and the Corcoran Gallery in 1907. His portraits of Ohio governors James E. Campbell, William McKinley, and Asa S. Bushnell are in the Ohio Statehouse collection.
