These figures are sculpted from memories of finding swimming holes my first summer living in upstate NY. I was reflecting on the power of renewal in the water’s force cascading over head and shoulders. It can feel like a beating, brisk, and you fight to stay inside the rush.
There is another adrenaline in eroding these pieces. Relinquishing control to the water. The erosion process can be over fast, and the clay must be bone dry. You trust that you pull the figure out at the precious moment before total loss.
The fired ceramic sculptures are the last moment of erosion before being pulled out of the waterfall.

price is for the sculpture on mirror base.
I propose to show the ceramic figure on the mirror base and/or printed photos of the beginning and end of erosion
